My Approach

As a member of both the British association for counsellors and psychotherapists and the General Hypnotherapy Register I am here to help you pause daily demands and look inward. I provide a calm and safe space for you to get in touch with your own wants and needs. My belief is that talking to a trusted counsellor in therapy helps to ground you so that you become able to manage intense emotions rather than continue to be overwhelmed by them, allowing you to make sense of difficult issues enabling you to change what can be changed and manage what cannot. I work in a way that is empathic, respectful, genuine and ethical. By collaboratively building a mutual trustful therapeutic relationship we create the foundation for the possibility of positive, long-term change.

As your therapist, I will work with transparency at all times and at a pace that feels manageable, and together we will reflect on what feels like it's not working and identify possibilities that may bring relief or change. As we get to know each other, we'll likely notice patterns in your relationships, ways of approaching problems, or in how you see the world. Together, we'll explore the role these patterns play in your life, so that you may gain greater awareness enabling you to consider how the recurrence of these patterns serve you.


Whether you are feeling depressed, anxious, unfocused or dissatisfied, our active, engaging and collaborative exploration will support you in bringing out your most adaptive capacities. We will approach this exploration with compassion, interest and curiosity and without judgment to focus on strengths, identifying unmet needs, recognizing patterns, and cultivate healing.

Self-care and self-compassion are necessary to achieve physical AND mental wellness. Change can be challenging when we have become disconnected from ourselves and the world. I know how daunting taking that first step can be so I hope that my website will help to alleviate your fears of what therapy is. Sometimes we can struggle in life with some quite minor and major issues and here are some of the signs which might indicate that talking to a therapist can help: such as over or under eating, a change in sleeping patterns, feeling over emotional or overwhelmed, feeling angry or acting aggressively or a change in social activities. Therapy is a place where you can access your authentic self.
